This is copied verbatim from rdale's email to baserock dev. Will be a table in time. Currently list of gems for rails 3.x, and build rules where necessary.

The 'rake gem' command builds a gem in a 'pkg' directory, and so the install command needs to be slightly different to the gems built with 'gem build'. For example:
build-commands:
- rake gem
install-commands:
- mkdir -p "$DESTDIR/$(gem environment home)"
- gem install --install-dir "$DESTDIR/$(gem environment home)" --bindir "$DESTDIR/$PREFIX/bin"
--ignore-dependencies --local ./pkg/rake-10.4.0.gem
